Local food is one of the most powerful means of bringing people together. No matter age, background or taste in music, we still gather around a table to eat. Food is a catalyst for conversation and brings friends, family and farmers together every single day.

Boreal Farms
Boreal Farms is an indoor and outdoor food and farm academy in King City Ontario. The team grows greens, mushrooms and market crops while teaching communities how to build their own local food systems.
Strengthening local food security through hybrid farms, community programs and agronomy support.
Boreal works with schools and community organizations to install and support hybrid farms that are easy to run. Indoor systems, mushroom production and field plots are designed together so partners can grow the crops that matter most for their community.
The team also supports partners in academia, development and industry with agronomy consulting. Field data, crop performance and operational patterns are translated into clear recommendations that can improve yield, resilience and the way people work together on shared farms.
Workshops, events and summer programs make the farms a place to learn as well as grow. Thousands of students, families and entrepreneurs have moved through Boreal programs, seeing first hand what year round local food can look like in practice.
Hybrid farming brings together regenerative agriculture and modern technology in a way that works for real communities. It protects soil, supports viable farm businesses and offers a path to respond to climate and resource challenges while caring for both people and the planet.
